New Writer's Website

To begin the new year, I am beginning a new blog to introduce myself and my developing written works in Science Fiction and Fantasy.

I am a long-time writer of SF/F, spanning over several decades where I have written for fun and to learn how to tell (hopefully engaging) stories. At long last, I am turning some of these works into a publishable format to make them available to the public. Here, I will provide synopses, writing samples, and updates on my works in development.

As I have been told many times, "no one cares about your work until it is done". Well, I 'm not *quite* there yet, but am close. I have completed a more-than-first draft version of a trilogy and am currently editing that for initial release.

The name of the work is "Confluence Of Worlds", same as this blog. I describe this novel as Wizard Of Oz meets The Matrix meets the Twilight Zone. This series could also be referred to as an "isekai", a Japanese word that literally means "other world" and refers to the type of story where the protagonist of a contemporary Earth-like world finds him/herself in an alien, fantastical world (usually reincarnated after an untimely death). Magic, superpowers, and other humanoid races are usually found there as well. When I began this work several years ago, isekai was not yet well-known but has since become very popular. Not sure whether this will help or hurt in promotion of my new series.

In this story, the main character is a jack-of-all-trades, tinkerer, and computer wiz. Unlike isekai, he doesn't get killed to got transported to a new world nor does he gain amazing magic powers, but he does bring his 21st Century knowledge, situational adaptability, and technical savvy to a fantastic world of Wizards and Elves. It is an amazing and wondrous place until he begins to see that everything is not as it appears.
